We are SO excited that all of our students can return to our school site soon. The board has determined that the first day back onsite for all our students will be Monday 13 September under Level 2. We feel it is important to give our families who are currently using onsite Bubbles more time to make alternative arrangements.
Tuesday 7 September and Wednesday 8 September
Online learning and Zoom sessions will continue for all students who are based at home this week.
For those students who have been at school in a Bubble during Level 3, please continue to come to school up to and including Wednesday 8 September.
Thursday 9 September and Friday 10 September
ALL students will remain at home whilst staff prepare our rooms for their return.
Later this week we will email Level 2 protocols for Monday’s smooth return to school by all students. This will include the ways in which you can help manage your child’s transition back to school.
When we open at level 2 the key areas that we will be promoting include:
- Regular use of sanitiser by all those onsite and thorough daily cleaning routines
- Minimising interactions between student groups during the school day, including before and after school
- Minimising adults onsite to staff only, except at drop-off / pick-up times
- Keeping onsite times from 8.30 am – 3.15 pm (apart from ASC at the end of the day)
- Recording contact tracing details of adult visitors
Our goal during Level 2 is to keep most of our usual school routines in place to support a sense of normality. There will be routines which we weave into our daily school life such as washing hands regularly, as we follow Level 2 Health and Safety guidelines.
Be assured that our teaching team will be watching out for the wellbeing of every child during their transition back to school. Likewise, we encourage you to keep in touch with us about any concerns that you have – no problem is too small. Simply email your child’s teacher, who will then be in touch with you.
ASC will be up and running as from Monday 13 September. If your usual requirements have changed, please email office@rewarewa.school.nz ASAP to confirm your days.
