At Rewa Rewa School we believe in the importance of our students developing and appreciating the value of Te Ao Māori. Students at all year levels develop their knowledge and understanding of te reo and tikanga Māori. Tuakana/teina is evident in our classrooms with students taking leadership roles, sharing their knowledge of te reo with other students. At the end of Year 6 they will be confident in situations where te reo and tikanga Māori are used.
All students participate in weekly kapa haka sessions. Students from Years 1-6 are invited to opt-in for the Kapa Haka Performance Group which represents our school at events. These include pōwhiri, Matariki celebrations and alongside other schools at an annual cultural festival in September of each year.
