Covid-19 Bulletin #6 – Where We’re Up To & Where We’re Moving Towards
Thursday 03 March 2022
|
OUR BIG MESSAGE TO WHANAU
How to stop the spread of the virus at Rewa Rewa School
If your child is being tested they MUST STAY AT HOME UNTIL YOU GET THEIR RESULT.
If you send them to school and they are positive you have put EVERY teacher and student at risk.
If your child has any Covid-19 symptoms please keep them at home and get them tested.
This ONE action will help us to keep the school site open longer.
We are constantly monitoring the number of cases affecting our school community
and using this information to make daily decisions.
|
|
Our current situation:
- We have a small, but increasing number of positive cases amongst our student community this week, affecting ASC also.
- The confidentiality of students affected by the virus is important, out of respect to them and their whanau. We ask that our community also follow this guideline.
- We are working with the Ministry to keep them informed of our current status.
- We currently have enough staff available to teach all of our classes and keep the school open.
- The majority of students are still attending school onsite.
Our cleaning company and staff are using recommended health and safe guidelines to keep those onsite as safe as we can.
|
|
Our aim for the week ahead:
- To keep our school open so that learning can continue to be delivered by teachers for those who are onsite.
- To offer general learning activities to those isolating at home (see Covid-19 Bulletin #5).
- To keep our community informed in a timely manner so that they can make day to day decisions about schooling for their family.
Each Daily Update, Bulletin or Newsletter will include the latest Ministry of Health advice – at times this will make previous advice that we have shared with you, outdated. You are welcome to call us and we can provide immediate clarification!
|
|
Be Prepared:
- Keeping our school open is highly dependent on the daily number of teachers/relievers we have available for the number of students who attend. We are fully staffed today, but this could change as quickly as tomorrow. Therefore…
- We may need to have classes taught by other teachers or classes joining together if student numbers are lower or home class teachers are based at home offering online learning.
- We may need to shift to online learning for ALL students at home.
WHATEVER THE PLAN…
We will try to give parents at least 24 hours warning of changes – please make YOUR plan NOW for how these changes will affect those in your household who are working.
|
|
What we need our community to continue to do:
- READ our Daily Update emails and Bulletin communications
- RING us if you need a friendly ear, need to talk about anything in our communications or need general assistance
- Keep sick students at home.
