Home and School Community

Home and School Parent Committee

Who we are

We are a small group of parents who meet twice a term to plan activities and events that benefit our students and community.  We also help out with running school events.  You can often find us at a stall or BBQ!

What we achieved in 2019

We have helped plan and/or run the following activities and events: school discos, sausage sizzles, Easter raffle, Scholastic book club, garden bulb sales, our community night with guest speaker Kathryn Berkett, and tonight’s family fun night.  Thanks to the profits from these activities we have provided financial support for the adventure playground, the new playground markings, the junior playground, and the purchase of school t-shirts and hats.

What we plan to achieve in 2020

We intend to continue with some of our regular activities and events (e.g. school discos, raffles, book club, school hat orders) as well as coming up with some new ideas for community events.  We are raising funds to: provide more shade around the school for our students, create an amazing junior playground, build a bike track around the top field, and buy more sports uniforms for our students.

How you can help

We are always looking for parents to help us plan and run events to make our school an amazing space for all our students.  We would love to hear your ideas about ways to make this happen!  Everyone is welcome at our Home and School meetings (look in the school newsletter for dates for 2020).  If you’re not able to come to meetings there are also other ways you can help.  For example, we are always looking for more volunteers to help with specific jobs (e.g. running a sausage sizzle, doing maintenance jobs around the school, baking for the disco).
