We provide a broad education for children Years 0-6 (5-11 years).
We deliver comprehensive education with an emphasis on literacy and numeracy. There is an emphasis on the Key Competencies and students understanding how they’re learning using our values of Respect, Integrity, Diversity, Empathy (RIDE).
Music is a strength at Rewa Rewa School. We have specialist music teachers who provide music lessons once a week for every class. All children have the opportunity to take part in a wide variety of musical experiences. In addition to class music, children can take part in small musical groups and choir. Children may also opt to receive individual keyboard lessons from our music teachers. We have a strong Kapahaka group with opportunities to perform at interschool events.
Each term has a particular curriculum focus, Science, Social Studies, Technology or Health with an emphasis on the importance of understanding the world around us. During the year children demonstrate their learning achievements in a Celebration of Learning showcasing recent learning. We also deliver targeted programmes for reading, writing and mathematics.
Leadership Opportunities are offered to our students. Sport and Outdoor Education are an important part of the programme at Rewa Rewa School. Children are encouraged to participate in a wide variety of sports and regularly offered opportunities to mix with other schools and share sporting competitions. The senior class (Yrs 5-6) participates in an outdoor education camp at one of Wellington's many outdoor education facilities every second year.
Swimming is part of the Curriculum and Rewa Rewa School is one of the few schools in our area to have a covered, heated pool available for instruction.
Children are encouraged to consider the needs of others in their everyday interactions with children and staff using our RIDE values.
