Kia Ora, I joined the Board at Rewa Rewa School in 2013 as a fundraising Co-Ordinator. I am married with two children, my eldest is at Newlands College and I have Lucas in year 6 at Rewa Rewa School.
During my time on the board I have secured various grants which have helped to contribute to covering and heating our school swimming pool and rebuilding our main adventure playground. Our most recent achievement was building our junior playground which is a suitable learning through play environment. A major focus this year is the development of a Bike & Athletics Track on our top field, for school and community use.
It is my pleasure to have been elected to the role of Presiding Chair this year. Part of my job as Presiding Chair is to see that everything that needs to be done gets done – legally and ethically, and to the highest standards. I believe that education is a partnership between home and school and we work hard to provide the best possible outcomes for our tamariki.
I joined the Rewa Rewa School Board in late 2022. I have a son, Ollie, currently in year 5 at the school and a daughter, Izzy, currently attending Newlands Childcare Centre and due to start at Rewa Rewa in 2025. My goal in joining the board was to ensure that the momentum created over the last few years continues, so that Rewa Rewa School continues to increase its mana as a place of learning in the Northern Suburbs.
I believe one of the strengths of Rewa Rewa School is its wonderful and diverse community. As the Board’s Community Engagement Coordinator I seek to foster this further, so that the school can be seen as the true heart of our community. I joined the Board at Rewa Rewa School in 2022 and am loving the chance to get to know the school community better. I am the mother of Ada in year 4. For my day job, I work in public health, specifically maternal and child wellbeing. I bring to our board a passion for child health, diversity, equitable outcomes, and sustainability
It’s my pleasure and honour to serve on the Board of Rewa Rewa School. Our whanau love the community nature of the kura, it’s grounds, and the people working hard for all tamariki. I’m a practicing lawyer with a passion for governance and fostering a strong sense of belonging and community. I currently sit on the governing boards of Whanau Manaaki and The Swan Nest. I also volunteer at school helping fundraise for our Bike & Athletics Track development and as a PTP reader. In my ‘spare time’ I love taking photographs, am an enthusiastic reader who buys more books than she can read, am a marriage celebrant, and dance with the kids. Ma te wa.
